MEESAMADHAVAN

His first independent commercial movie. Made creative use of throw away materials from nature such as bamboo, grass, hay which gave a colourful look to the movie. This was a trend setter for movies that came out during the era.

VELLITHIRA

Brought a 2D effect for many scenes in the movie using material sponge.

PATTALAM

The military camp in the movie was set up using ordinary sacks. Used papers were used for shooting a song in the movie.

This movie was a turning phase in JOSEPH’s creative profession. He starts gaining naturality in his works. Valayar Checkpost was constructed for this movie right in middle of the city.

Breaking the conventional style of film making in the Malayalam film industry, Big B was a new experience for the audience as well as its crew members. The art direction for each scene corresponded with the style of the movie.

The challenge was to put up a hut on the top of a tree without hurting it. He succeeded in building a hut without nailing on the tree.

The floor of Poompatta studio in Cochin was transformed to a bank in the movie.

The super hit movie featuring all the actors of Malayalam cinema. The famous scene where the two super stars Mohanlal and Mammooty fight was shot in a flat. The flat was specially created by JOSEPH for the scene.

Trivandrum beach was turned into a mini Goa by JOSEPH’s craftsmanship

The entire house facing the backwaters where the hero lives was ideated and created by JOSEPH.

ROBINHOOD

The core scenes in the movie were ATM robbery. The ATMs and its system used for robbery were ideated by Joseph. Also the conference room, bank & flat were created by him in a studio.

CHATTAMBI NADU

Great vision to convert a village in Tamilnadu to Chembattunadu in Kerala. He also made use of a dam site to create the heroine’s house which added a visual delight to the audience.
